Oddarrang
Olavi Louhivuori founded Oddarrang (Ilmari Pohjola;trb, Olavi Louhivuori;drs, Osmo Ikonen;cello, Lasse Sakara;gtr, Lasse Lindgren;bass)in fall 2003. Oddarrang´s music is an interesting mixture of different musical moods, traditions and soundscapes, that Louhivuori has been exploring as a musician and a drummer. Besides Louhivuori´s compositions, the warm and dark sound that this instrumentation creates, is unique and fresh. "What I´d really want to give to the listener through my music would be an experience, that wouldn´t be too much bounded into any specific genre or category. Simpy a musical journey where nothing else matters but the music itself".
On March 10th 2007 Oddarrang´s debute album Music Illustrated received the award of the annual Finnish Emma-prize (equivalent for Grammies) for the best Jazz Album of the Year 2006.
